My Mother

What Does MOTHER mean to you?
I am so so lucky to have my Mother still number one.I know that is not the case of many of my friends and many of you so believe me I do NOT take it for granted. I do know that we only have today. My Mom has just moved back to Prince George after living in Chemainus for  the past 20 years. People say that they don't understand To PG after moving to the Island.  We know why,  Mom came to Canada in the late 50s and settled here in Prince George. Then  she met my Dad and raised a family here for 40 years. It is as she says like "coming home" now. She experiences a lot of firsts in her life now, including purchasing  her first condo. She absolutely has modeled for me a woman who has taken what life has given her. Mom has decided that she is going to make the best of the situations and make life count. She challenges herself and has expanded the number of people in her life .WE are her family.WE love her and she in turn loves and shows her love for all of us.She has shown us how to be a Mother and to each of us here who are mothers in one form or another ( cause I think mothering is interactive love of others ),THANK YOU Mom from all of us.You mean EVERYTHING to me and to so many many others.

Chris Hadfield In Our CIty Prince George April 6th

April 6th is going to stay with me having had the opportunity to attend the Dr.Bob Ewert Dinner this year celebrating its 10th year honoring its physicians service to the community. This year's keynote speaker was   Col.Chris Hadfield. What a honor to have been there to hear this lovely, lovely man speak about his life experience not only as a dreamer but truly as one who had a dream from childhood and  who saw it through to becoming an astronaut.   To those of us here on earth who have been given the gift of his photography we marvel. For all the accomplishments in space and as a leader we appreciate his sacrifices and those of his family too..As a humanitarian and as a gifted humorous speaker we all say Thank You Chris you make us want to be better Canadians known for our stewardship of "our" earth. I have to say I hope that the physicians look at all the amazing women in medicine in the North and honor one of them as I did not see one woman's name listed as having been a past recipient.

March 8th International Women's Day -

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY Is celebrated all around the world today but I have to say It is one of the relationship I truly love photographing in my career.I can hear the laughter the joy and the great hugs given and stories told when I look at these images and know that LOVE is present and truly gives joy to those who know these women. The strength they are given and the re gifting of that to their daughters and granddaughters. Amazing. There were so many many of you that have come through the door to work with me and I wish I could put you all up but know that you are here in spirit and more importantly you are visible to the people in your lives and that is more important. "Be in the Picture" this year.

2014 is the Year we want to see You.

                                                                       2 0 1 4

I can't believe it is March and I haven't actually put a new blog up so My apologizes.

I have been busy and here are some of the women I have been working with and I thought you would like to see their before and afters. The lady at the top had her hair and makeup done with Razors Edge
while the other three all went to Salon Spice and you can see for yourself how beautiful they all are.

And yes, certainly having your hair and makeup and the clothing makes a difference. But what I see is beyond that.It is the confidence in themselves and their real beauty shines through. And get this, three of these ladies have not even seen their images yet at the time of writing this today!! Thank you for giving your permission all of you to put these up and share your images with other women. It is through you that others believe that they too can have an image that truly truly reveals the beauty I see in all of you ( and now I hope you believe too!)

HELP PORTRAIT 2013 Prince George

Prince George was one of many many cities in the World on Dec 7th  that put the focus on giving and not Taking. For the 5th year running, makeup artists, hairstylists and photographers in over 67 countries, gave the chance to many people to have their hair and makeup done for free and receive an 8x10 at the end of the day. Analisa Lundstrom of Pinups Punks and Pretty Things Hair Lounge was the real makeup artist that day. I just helped out at the end and that is when the photographer from the Citizen came by! Our local photograhers who put aside time to come out, many thanks to all, but particularly to Peggy and her team from Loxx Academy of Hair Design who really made a HUGE difference in so many  with their brushes and wands -  Bill at WD West Studios who supplied the 51 portraits we gave out and to Starbucks on Central who once again supplied the coffee and to St.Michael's and All Angels Church who gave us the use of their hall for free again. You are all angels .
