Our Friend Collette B. is getting hitched.
Collette is a friend to many people around town and so it was a great honor to have been able to celebrate here in PG for her upcoming wedding ( August in Vancouver). There were many people who wish her and Lucy her daughter so much happiness and many who were not there do as well I know. Paul is the lucky guy and Lucy has a lovely young man in her life too Luke who sang a few tunes so there was dancing at his insistence! I do not cover weddings but I sure love "life events" like these to share with you . We will all be thinking of you Paul and Collette on the 16th August!! xxxx

Canada Day - Celebrating the best of ourselves and our Country
Families are important. That is it in a nut shell. How they come to be is not as important as that they do come to be. So this day when we celebrate 147 years of our country "becoming" a Family, made up of First Nations who welcomed those that traveled to shared this land we now call home.
We share this day with those we love and I was delighted to have the opportunity to photograph this gathering of families today. There were a total of 14 people so these are a couple of my favorites I wanted to share with you.
Believe it or not, here is Grandma and her grandchildren - it doesn't get any better than that!!
The Family in the yard just makes me feel good looking at it as the husband is so in love with his wife and she is radiant as she looks to their children. The children are responding to having just seen their parents kissing!!
What I love about an images like these is the "sounds" of them ,their voices and squeals are still in my head as I look at them. My belief is that children should be Seen and Heard and this is true of both of these images.
Happy Canada Day To all of you . May you carry the memories of your gathering today throughout the years to come.

Prince George's Finest: Firemen Are working Hard For you DAY and NIGHT 24/7
They want you to know what they really do and want to raise monies for the Burn Unit in Vancouver for all residents of British Columbia. We are producing a Calendar highlighting their training and showcasing some of their members doing what they do best. I was asked to be their photographer for this project and I definitely had no problem saying yes.I am donating my time to them and it is truly been a real pleasure to do. Bearing in mind that they need to have the support of businesses in town to sponsor each month of the 14 month Calendar to keep the printing costs down so as to make the sales count. As 2015 is our City's 100th Birthday and the Canada Winter Games are being held here also we have been doing some images with views of the city so we sure hope you will be marking these down as gifts for Christmas and support these guys....as they sure support and care for us with their hearts, minds and bodies each and every day.
Target Date to have these ready is by the mid to end of Oct 2014,so watch out for them and us as we photography around the City of Prince George.

My Mother
What Does MOTHER mean to you?
I am so so lucky to have my Mother still number one.I know that is not the case of many of my friends and many of you so believe me I do NOT take it for granted. I do know that we only have today. My Mom has just moved back to Prince George after living in Chemainus for the past 20 years. People say that they don't understand To PG after moving to the Island. We know why, Mom came to Canada in the late 50s and settled here in Prince George. Then she met my Dad and raised a family here for 40 years. It is as she says like "coming home" now. She experiences a lot of firsts in her life now, including purchasing her first condo. She absolutely has modeled for me a woman who has taken what life has given her. Mom has decided that she is going to make the best of the situations and make life count. She challenges herself and has expanded the number of people in her life .WE are her family.WE love her and she in turn loves and shows her love for all of us.She has shown us how to be a Mother and to each of us here who are mothers in one form or another ( cause I think mothering is interactive love of others ),THANK YOU Mom from all of us.You mean EVERYTHING to me and to so many many others.

Chris Hadfield In Our CIty Prince George April 6th
April 6th is going to stay with me having had the opportunity to attend the Dr.Bob Ewert Dinner this year celebrating its 10th year honoring its physicians service to the community. This year's keynote speaker was Col.Chris Hadfield. What a honor to have been there to hear this lovely, lovely man speak about his life experience not only as a dreamer but truly as one who had a dream from childhood and who saw it through to becoming an astronaut. To those of us here on earth who have been given the gift of his photography we marvel. For all the accomplishments in space and as a leader we appreciate his sacrifices and those of his family too..As a humanitarian and as a gifted humorous speaker we all say Thank You Chris you make us want to be better Canadians known for our stewardship of "our" earth. I have to say I hope that the physicians look at all the amazing women in medicine in the North and honor one of them as I did not see one woman's name listed as having been a past recipient.

March 8th International Women's Day -
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY Is celebrated all around the world today but I have to say It is one of the relationship I truly love photographing in my career.I can hear the laughter the joy and the great hugs given and stories told when I look at these images and know that LOVE is present and truly gives joy to those who know these women. The strength they are given and the re gifting of that to their daughters and granddaughters. Amazing. There were so many many of you that have come through the door to work with me and I wish I could put you all up but know that you are here in spirit and more importantly you are visible to the people in your lives and that is more important. "Be in the Picture" this year.
